Yes, There's a Twins Stadium Bill ...
Edina State Sen. Roy Terwilliger to Introduce it Early in Next Session

MINNEAPOLIS, Posted 1:18 p.m. December 07, 1997 -- Yes, there's still a Twins stadium bill.

It just hasn't been introduced yet.

Edina Republican State Senator Roy Terwilliger -- a GOP governor candidate -- says he plans to introduce another bill outlining how a new Twins stadium should be financed, reports WCCO-Radio.

Like earlier bills that failed, Terwilliger's calls for user fees paying for construction and recognizes he has to convince Minnesotans that it's the right way to go.

"We certainly have to do a better job of making certain that people understand it," Terwilliger told WCCO-Radio. "Because I believe that we had the proposal, the basic elements of a proposal there before, but it was rushed somewhat."

The mid-November legislative special session ended without passage of a stadium bill and North Carolina businessman Don Beaver said last week that he is close to completing an agreement to purchase the Twins.
